About Best of the Town
Hi! We’re Steph and John McCoy, the founders of Best of the Town. When we moved to Front Royal in 2018 with our two young children, we were excited to become part of the community and get involved. From the start, we’ve been passionate about uplifting our community and making it a better place to live, work, and connect.
But we quickly ran into a challenge. It was hard to know what was going on. Communication here, generally speaking, wasn’t a strong point. Events, opportunities, and local happenings often felt hidden or scattered, making it more complicated than it should have been to get involved.
Most people seemed to rely on Facebook or word of mouth to stay informed, but as newcomers, we found that frustrating. Important information often didn’t reach us, and more often than not, what we saw and heard involved complaints about problems more than celebrations of all the good things happening. We couldn’t help but wonder, where is all the good? Because we knew it was here.
That question sparked the idea for Best of the Town… a way to connect people, highlight the best parts of Front Royal, and make it easier for everyone to feel informed and involved.
